The best tip I have?

Don’t start drawing or use “getting noticed” as your source of motivation or stamina.

ahah it does nothing but steer you in the wrong direction and you end up convincing yourself the value of your art is based on how many notes it gets or how many views it has.

DON’T DO THIS. It’s so bad for your mentality as an artist I can’t even begin to explain.

Everyone wants their art to get noticed and appreciated, thats really natural! But when thats your only drive as a new artist, you’ll go downhill pretty fast and it will probably effect the quality of your art as well.

Find things that motivate and inspire you! The internet is a vast infinite source of material, it might take some looking around, but once you find your notch its worth it.

While I have to admit. I used to be insanely stubborn, I wanted to gain popularity SOLEY from my original work, and not fanart. So i refused to draw it. Once I started drawing it, of course I got more attention!

I think having a balance of drawing your own art, and fanart is good to be honest. It’s common sense that if you draw something popular and people like it, people might flock to it, and it will expose them to your other work. But even with fanart….draw it because YOU want to, not for that reason. Again if your drawing something only with the goal “I hope this will get notes!!!” and then it doesn’t…. unless you’ve got thick skin, of course its gonna hit you in the gut, and make you devalue yourself!

So I guess I’m saying ...For a new artist your goal should be on improving your skills, your mentality, and your atitude. “Getting Popular” should never be your STARTING goal.

there are two eyeholes in my mask so I can see through them yup

tho I can see why you’d think they are painted on sometimes
